Where can I find the Sound preferences?
Click on the
Apple Menu and a drop down menu will appear. Click on
System Preferences
The window
System Preferences will appear.
In the window
System Preferences, look for the
Sound icon and click on it.
Now the window
Sound will appear.
How do I change the output preferences?
Go to
Sound in
System Preferences, click on the Output tab.
Here you can adjust the volume and the balance settings from here. Please ensure that the mute box is
not checked. To turn off mute, simply click on the mute box.
It is also possible to show your system volume in the menu bar, so you can regulate the sound volume without having to open System Preferences.
You will attain the best sound quality with headphones or a head set.
How do I change the input preferences?
Open your
Sound window in
System Preferences, click on the Input tab.
Here you can adjust the Input volume of the microphone used with your computer.
The Output Volume regulates the sound volume coming out of your computer. Please ensure that there is
NO check on the mute box. To un-check, simply click on the mute box.
You attain the best results with headphones or a head set.
How to check the Sound preferences?
To check your Sound preferences, please make a test call on FriendCaller.
To use the Test Call function:
Login with your FriendCaller user ID. On the green Callbar click on the symbol

to start the test call. Follow the instructions of the test call. If you can hear your own voice, your audio and sound preferences are correctly set.
